Dr. Satnam Singh Ahluwalia embraced the world of Safety & Security after professional stints in Industrial Safety & Security, Loss Prevention, Risk Management, and Private Investigation from India and offshore.
He has been on the firmament for over 35 years now as CMD of Kolkata Response Group Pvt Ltd, a company engaged in providing Security and Investigation Services.
He has been a successful entrepreneur and has managed and led a large workforce. His passion about social work since his school days is a story in itself, which led him to form IHA Foundation (Indian Humanitarian Assistance Foundation).
He is the founder and the Chairman of the Foundation. He always believes in Sri Guru Nanak Devjji’s teaching of Naam Japna, Kirat Karni, Vand Chakna - uttering the name of the Almighty, sharing and living an honest living.
He has worked in various fields through his foundation like environmental awareness, women empowerment, upliftment of backward classes, Heritage and culture awareness, restoration, Education, Sports and bringing to light issues which are important for society.
His never say “NO” attitude has enabled him to reach places where normally people think twice to reach, whenever there is a calamity whether manmade or nature, he is always found there helping and assisting in whatever small way he could, whether it be the Majerhat Bridge collapse where he was the first to reach, or when a massive storm/cyclones like Fani, Alia or Bulbul strike West Bengal, or for instance during Sri Nagar Floods, Nepal Earthquake, Kerala Floods, Gujarat Earthquake, Satnam is present.
He has worked extensively for the protection of environment, like leading a drive against plastic pollution, save water initiative etc. and in the last 3 years he has planted more than 2 Lakh trees all across India. Interfaith work and promoting universal brotherhood is his main mission of life and he believes in spreading the Guru’s message of Humanity, Peace and Harmony.
During the Lockdown under his able guidance IHA Foundation came together to serve daily day and night food to nearly 11000 people in Kolkata, this has been going on for 120 days and has led us to serve more than 25 Lakh meals, and he has taken a Pledge to ensure that no one stays hungry in Kolkata during this extra ordinary crisis of Corona Pandemic and Lockdown.
He is the General Secretary of United Interfaith Foundation India, General Secretary of Gurdwara Behala Parbandhak Committee, Global Advisor to Earth Day Network India and is also associated in various roles with the Gurdwaras of Eastern India to protect the interest of the Minority Communtiy in West Bengal.
He also closely works with the Government of West Bengal and other NGO Pan India. He is also the recipient of many national and international awards.
Dashmeshbir Singh Sodhi is the Country Coordinator of IHA Foundation. He has been an integral part of the foundation in the varied projects the foundation undertakes in India. He firmly believes that one small stride towards a better tomorrow sets the path for a greater effect.
Dashmesh through IHA Foundation is deeply involved in a broad range of activities that include Community Development, Inter-Faith Programs, Disaster Management and Environment Welfare Programs.
He has been instrumental in implementing the above initiatives, activities and programmes of IHA Foundation namely the Tree plantation drives, End Plastic Pollution Programmes, Reduce Sound Pollution, Air Pollution Campaign, Water Body Cleanup Initiatives, Save Water initiative and Rehabilitation of People affected by Disaster etc.
He is well versed with the application of research tools in social research and training, measurement of the impact of development initiatives and problem-solving and policy-making etc.
At IHA Foundation he monitors the various programs and initiatives in all states of India. He also actively contributes to the social and economic development of the communities in which they operate, thereby making a foundation that continually responds to the changing social realities through the development and application of knowledge and towards the development of a sustainable society that promotes and protects equality, social justice and Human Rights for all.
