EXPRESSION OF NATIONAL SOLIDARITY AND CELEBRATION OF 75 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE

To commemorate the 75th Independence Day – 15th August, 2022, members of IHA Foundation and United Interfaith Foundation led by Satnam Singh Ahluwalia (Chairman IHA Foundation) along with President Most Rev Thomas D’Souza (Archbishop of Calcutta), Md Shafique Qasmi (Imam of Nakhoda Masjid), Sri Divakar Chaitanya (Chinmay Mission), Munni Mani Kumar Ji Maharaj (Jain Senior Monk), Sri Murli Punjabi (General Secretary Sindhi Panchayat) called upon the GOC-in-C of Eastern Command , Lt Gen R P Kalita, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM to exchange greetings on this special occasion of 75th Independence Day and presented him with a Handmade National Flag – Tiranga which has been proudly hand made and embroidered by Kashmiri Sisters and Mothers in their homes in Kashmir whereby these women created a group of close to 50 to 70 ladies who day and night sat together and used their skills in embodying Unity, Diversity & Plurality of India an initiative of IHA Foundation along with Indian Army. This National Flag - Tiranga was brought all the way from Kashmir - an initiative of IHA Foundation along with the Indian Army, which was taken up to provide encouragement to Kashmiri Women Artisans and to empower them by providing them livelihood.

The Delegation of United Interfaith Foundation- India and IHA Foundation also called upon the Commissioner of Kolkata Police, Shri Vineet Kumar Goyal IPS and Maj Gen S S Kahlon, VSM, GOC Bengal Sub Area and exchanged greetings and handed over a handmade National Flag made by Kashmiri Women Artisans. The special handmade National Flag was also sent to the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Governor of West Bengal, Commodore Rituraj Sahu and members of the Armed and Police Forces of the nation.

“This is the idea of INDIA, where leaders of each religion and faith represent the National Flag - the Unity and Solidarity. I am pleased that the members of United Interfaith Foundation – India and IHA Foundation called upon me and exchanges wishes and greetings for the 75th Independence Day. I am happy to receive this handmade National Flag and congratulate them for their noble initiative”, said Lt Gen R P Kalita, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, GOC-in-C of Eastern Command.

“This initiative by IHA Foundation to support the Women Artisans of our Country and celebrate the Independence Day with handmade National Flag, is what we as Brothers and Sisters need to encourage each other to promote the Artisans of our Country and support each other as our own Brothers and Sisters.”, Maj Gen S S Kahlon, VSM, GOC Bengal Sub Area.

“We Thank the Armed Forces and Police Forces for protecting and safeguarding our Independence. This initiative of empowering Kashmiri Women Artisans thereby providing every citizen in India an opportunity to unfurl the National Flag in their homes, was our tribute to the lives and sacrifices of each and every soul who had sacrificed their lives for India. Along with celebrating this Freedom, we all should remember that this freedom should be protected by us in the right manner, as it has been earned through great ordeals. This is the fabric of our nation and Bengal when we are celebrating 75 years of our Independent Nation that we were together, we are together and we shall be together in the future.”, said Satnam Singh Ahluwalia, Chairman IHA Foundation and General Secretary United Interfaith Foundation – India.

 

“The National Flag – Tiranga represents our Unity in Diversity, the freedom which was obtained by us through many sacrifices, therefore it becomes our duty as citizens to ensure that we maintain the social fabric of our Nation intact which we have tried to in the last 75 years and may this remain till infinity. We called upon the armed forces and police forces to express our gratitude to them in serving our Great Nation.”, said Most Rev Thomas D’Souza, Archbishop of Calcutta and President of United Interfaith Foundation – India.
