In the sweltering heat, compassion shines brightest
IHA Foundation Heat wave Relief drive for past 10 days
Amidst the relentless grip of a scorching heatwave, Kolkata finds solace in the
compassionate efforts of the IHA Foundation, led by our Chairman Satnam Singh
Ahluwalia. With temperatures soaring to a staggering 43 degrees Celsius, the city's
streets become an unforgiving furnace, testing the endurance of citizens. Yet, in the face
of adversity, IHA Foundation stands as a beacon of hope, extending a lifeline to those
most vulnerable to the merciless heat.
For the past ten days, IHA Foundation has embarked on a noble mission, tirelessly
distributing vital supplies across the city. From the bustling roads to the quiet corners,
from South to North Kolkata no soul is being left untouched by their benevolent touch.
Glasses brimming with refreshing sherbet, cooling glucose water, and the simple yet
essential drinking water are offered with heartfelt generosity, quenching the thirst of
those who brave the blistering sun.
But IHA Foundation's care doesn't end there. For the past 10 days recognizing the dire
need for personal comfort in such trying times, they extend a comforting hand to auto
drivers, bus conductors, rickshaw pullers, and many others who toil under the scalding
sky. Towels and gamchas, symbols of respite and dignity, are bestowed upon these
unsung heroes, easing their burdens and soothing their weary souls.
Gratitude echoes through the streets as the Kolkata Police Forces stand as steadfast
guardians, ensuring the safety of all amidst the relentless heat. Their unwavering
commitment, matched only by the dedication of IHA Foundation's volunteers, paints a
portrait of unity and resilience in the face of adversity.
In the heart of this crisis, the IHA Foundation's relief campaign shines as a beacon of
compassion and solidarity. With every gesture of kindness, they offer not just hydration
and comfort, but a glimmer of hope amidst the sweltering chaos. In the warmth of their
embrace, Kolkata finds strength to endure, knowing that, in unity, there is resilience,
and in compassion, there is healing.
"Our primary goal is to provide immediate relief and support to the individuals who are
most vulnerable to the adverse effects of the heat wave. We are committed to making a
tangible difference in their lives by ensuring they have access to essential fluids and
some respite from the intense heat.”, said Satnam Singh Ahluwalia, Chairman – IHA
Foundation.
He further added, “Our relief efforts are ongoing, and we are working diligently to reach
as many individuals as possible. We are collaborating with local organizations,
community leaders, and volunteers to ensure efficient and equitable distribution of the
relief supplies. We have also informed local organizations as to those who want to but
cannot start such a drive, can reach out to us and we shall provide the necessary relief.
Our team is actively monitoring the situation and identifying areas with the highest
concentration of vulnerable individuals to prioritize our efforts.”.
