KOLKATA NGO HONOURED BY WORLD BOOK OF RECORDS, LONDON

Satnam Singh Ahluwalia from Kolkata was honored by World Book of Records, London and his feat was recorded providing the biggest, longest & continuous service to humanity during Covid Pandemic. The record validated his dedicated and relentless service to humanity and his continuous strive to serve the society with honesty and sincerity for reducing the human sufferings, also to guide for the best prevention of Corona virus disease as specified by the World Health Organization (WHO). He was also honored by Govt of Punjab, Dept of Higher Education for the selfless work done him and his outstanding support towards humanity for the fight against Covid-19.

From the very first day of the Lockdown induced by the Covid 19 pandemic, Satnam Singh Ahluwalia and his team of volunteers at IHA Foundation were on the streets of the city under the initiative of Project Zero Hunger- Langar on Wheels which is continued day and night where IHA Foundation under his able guidance has been able to serve more than 37 Lakh meals continuously for the past 21 months with a pledge that no one shall sleep Hungry. The concept of Langar of Wheels is to serve meals to all, regardless of caste, class, religion, gender, social or economic status. Langar on Wheels has continued their selfless service outside Hospitals, Railway Stations, Bus Stands during the various Lockdowns.

IHA Foundation volunteers have been distributing of monthly ration kits and other essential commodities to more than 36,400 people, along with it IHA Foundation has also circulated a helpline where people who have lost their jobs due to Covid or have faced a loss of any earning family members, were provided with monthly ration kits to enable them to sustain without compromising their self respect, as these people do not come out to stand in lines or tell their near and dear ones.

Also during this unusual state of medical emergency, where people were suffering and dying due to the second wave of Covid19, IHA Foundation under the leadership of its Chairman Satnam Singh Ahluwalia had setup Free Oxygen Langar Sewa Camps in various locations in Kolkata, where he saved more than 2634 lives, and refilled more than 6000 oxygen cylinders free of cost. The Free Oxygen Langar Sewa Camp along with providing free oxygen facility to the affected also provided them with Free Medical Assistance and Free Covid medicines as prescribed by the Doctors and Special Guidance by Critical Care Specialist Doctor serving more than 8000 persons.

A Free Vaccination camp for 18+ was also organized for the underprivileged and needy at Amritsar. This Free Vaccinnation Camp inoculated more than 3000 persons. IHA Foundation also set up medical camps across the State at various locations to serve the underprivileged and needy.

From the time of Lockdown imposed last year we have been serving food to the needy and underprivildeged through our Langar on Wheels initiative. During the second wave of Covid19 our mission was to keep Kolkata Breathing and we started Free Oxygen Langar Sewa Camps with this is mind. We have been serving and striving to serve mankind, and shall continue to do so. Our mission is to reach more and more persons so that no life is lost, Our first priority is to save lives.” said Satnam Singh Ahluwalia, Chairman IHA Foundation.
