IHA Foundation at the service of the people who are waiting at Railway Stations for their trains to come owing to the chaos and rush caused by the change and scheduling in Train timings. We are also serving meals outside respective hospitals to the relatives of the people who have been admitted.

IHA Foundation volunteers have increased their intensity of service, due to this surge of Covid19, whether it be providing meals at the various temporary shelters or to any beggar, ragpicker, migrant workers, mutthias or underprivileged who are found on the Streets without food . The concept of “Langar of Wheels” under the project Zero Hunger is to serve meals to all needy, regardless of caste, class, religion, gender, social or economic status or political consideration – especially at a time when it is most critical.

IHA Foundation volunteers have been serving cooked meals (Langar) since the Lockdown of March 2020 and have served more than 36 Lakh meals in total till now, along with distribution of monthly ration kits and other essential commodities and during winter – Winter Wear, Blankets, Shawls, Mufflers, Caps etc.

“We have been receiving since Monday information that many passengers were stuck at various Railway Stations owing to the restrictions in place due to Covid19, and people have been stranded at Railway Stations for 4 to 5 hours and many had to stay back as they could not board their trains owing to the rush and timings, with no food and water. Immediately IHA Foundation volunteers rushed with food and water to help and assist them. This step has been taken keeping in mind that despite the restrictions being in place, sources of income are still unreliable as of now.” said Satnam Singh Ahluwalia Chairman IHA Foundation and General Secretary Gurdwara Behala.

Mr.Satnam Singh Ahluwalia further informed, “The Hospitals have again are facing face the brunt of the third wave of Covid19, however this time the severity of the cases as we have observed is less none the less there are many people who are being admitted due to covid complications. As IHA Foundation has taken a pledge that no one will sleep hungry under our project Zero Hunger, so how could we stop now, there are the relatives of these Covid19 affected who are worried and are staying outside hospitals in this cold, IHA Foundation volunteers have been providing them with a hot meal, tea, shawls and blankets to the needy who don’t have the means or place to stay, till the times their relatives are admitted.”

“We understand the Covid19 virus as again taken the form of the third Wave and we as a society need to understand and abide by the norms of social distancing, but this should not lead to us distancing ourselves from humanity and brotherhood towards the people who are most hit during these trying and extraordinary times.” said Mr.Satnam Singh Ahluwalia, Chairman IHA Foundation.
