As you are aware that we are living in this unprecedented state of medical emergency, where people are suffering and dying due to Covid19. The first, foremost and immediate thing that they require is Oxygen to survive along with necessary medicines, however due to lack of availability of oxygen we have lost many souls in this fight against Covid 19.

We at IHA Foundation have organised a Free Oxygen Langar Sewa at Gurdwara Behala (23A & 28S Diamond Harbour Road, Kolkata – 700053, Opposite Alipore Mint near Majerhat Bridge).

The “Free Oxygen Langar Sewa” at the Gurdwara has been set up by IHA Foundation. A well designed oxygen centre has been put together, which has a Gas Bank and is attached to a number of outlet, and each outlet has a flowmeter to maintain the flow of oxygen given to patients. Oxygen concentrators are also present where patients who are sitting in their vehicles outside the Gurdwara are also provided with fresh oxygen. A tent has been laid out equipped with oxymenters, blood pressure machine, thermometers and all other equipments to check the basic parameters of the patient. Most of those who come here are in desperate need of oxygen, but are unable to find a place in a hospital. A separate portion has been earmarked in Gurdwara Behala with a separate entrance on which the tent has been erected, patients sit and intake oxygen connected to the oxygen pipeline. A central oxygen supply system, like in major hospitals. Many wait at the Gurdwara while their families look for a bed. Some patients return home as they begin to feel better.

The doors of our Gurdwara are open to everyone. Many patients come when their SPO2 level has fallen considerably. Our IHA Foundation volunteers greet them with a smile and assist them along with the medical team in providing them with Oxygen, and if medicines are prescribed by the Doctor, and the patient is financially weak, IHA Foundation arranges for their medicine also

Our effort is not to refuse anyone. Our first priority is to save lives. Once a patient arrives, our team of Doctors and Medical Support staff checks their oxygen levels and other critical levels are checked immediately along with the doctor’s prescription and aadhar card, thereafter it takes less than a minute to set the oxygen supply up.

We believe that all patients coming to the Gurdwara will get dual benefit, in the first place they will get free Oxygen for themselves and secondly they will be getting the blessings of the Guru, with the soothing Gurbani Devotional Kirtan being sung in the background.
